Darci and Joe were SUCH TROOPERS during their engagement session. The wind was crazy and it was definitely chilly, especially as the sun sunk lower in the sky. But oh man was it so worth it. I pitched the idea of going to Deception Pass on a whim when we were planning their photos, and they adored the idea because that's where Joe proposed!

We walked all the way across that bridge you can see behind them to get to this spot and Darci hiked down the side of the hill in heels! I'm always so impressed when people can do stuff like that because I was tripping all over the place in sneakers! (Darci and Joe can attest, but it makes for some cute photos when couples react to me being a klutz 😂)

It was pretty easy to capture adorable photos of these two all cuddled up when they had to do that to keep warm!

Anytime I find tall grass, you KNOW we'll be talking a lot of photos there 😉

The wind may be a pain for hair sometimes, but when people are willing to embrace it, it makes for such dreamy photos! And some super fun stories to tell as well.

Of course, we had to snag a couple of shots at the exact spot where Joe proposed!

We ran around in some fields and played around like we were kids again.

I swear the last place we went felt like we were on a beach in Hawaii. The sunset was gorgeous and the waves turned the water white and light blue.

I'm so grateful for couples that embrace the chaos of stormy weather and trust me to capture their love. You'll be seeing more of Darci + Joe in October when I shoot their gorgeous fall wedding!
